How many physical sports can you name where you get better with no physical training or conditioning? Not many, if any. So why is it that many golfers don’t condition themselves to improve performance? Golf is no different to tennis, cricket, or any form of martial arts, all these sports require control of fine motor movements coupled with explosive power.
I will help in training your body to improve your game of golf. My training takes place at both our unique Andover based studio and surrounding Hampshire golf clubs and driving ranges.
Benefits
Step One - Flexibility
An individual assessment of posture, swing, and length/tension testing will give you a personalised stretching programme to restore optimal movement throughout the body.
Step Two - Stability
Split into two stages, static and dynamic. Static stability will aid with holding a good alignment whilst being still. Dynamic stability will help whilst holding this as you move through a swing.
Step Three - Strength
Strength is used to generate power so we will start developing this first. Think that a club head can reach over 100mph at impact so the body must be strong enough to deal with this and other demands.
Step Four - Power
Like any golfer you want to hit further. Generate more power and you will hit that ball further. We will develop power throughout the body, from the legs to the core through to the shoulders.
There isn’t much general knowledge about exercise in pregnancy, without searching the internet you may know nothing about it at all. At such a special time in your life and with so many changes happening in your body, you will want to be sure you are following the right advice.
I am a fully qualified ante and post natal exercise instructor, working 1-2-1 or with couples, whether it be partners or friends. I also run group sessions for up to a maximum of 8 people. Working on fitness, posture, and pelvic floor muscles my exercises will help you cope with the effects that pregnancy has on the body.
